August 10, 2002 Des Moines, Iowa
Kasim Sulton played the Iowa State Fair with Tommy James and the Shondells... Unfortunately, due to a massive amount of ickiness, I was not able to see Kasim perform. It's a looooong story, but it's all the tour manager's fault, that's our story and we're sticking to it!!
Never fear, though, Kasim-Bear and Ann and I took lots of photos during the 14 hours we spent at the fair, so stick around and take a look at the photos for kicks & grins. Or so you can laugh at that weird librarian and her little tiny stuffed bear wandering around Iowa... Whatever trips your trigger :-)
We were getting ready to move out of the tiny apartment at the end of the month so the bedroom was a shambles - clothes everywhere, crap all over the floor. I was having difficulty focusing, so Kasim-bear held up his sign and said "Come ON, mom, we have to GO!"
Kasim-bear (also known as K-b for short) camped out by the front door, directions to the fairgrounds (almost) in his hot little paw... and in front of the former site of the "door o'Kasim" (long since replaced by the "office o'Kasim" in the new house).
Out in the hall, K-b said goodbye to our trusty watch-hedgehog Fred. I grabbed the caffeine and we went to the front door to wait for Ann, who was driving.
